Manipal Research Colloquium 2016

One of the Manipal Univesity's active research program is "Manipal Research Colloquium 2016 (April 4-6, 2016)", where we have a platform to meet all researchers from various campus of Manipal University (Manipal, Mangalore, Bangalore, Jaipur, Sikkim, Nepal,Malaysia, Dubai,...) and other affiliated research institutes of Manipal Universities. MRC is organized by the research directorate of Manipal University.

I had a chance to give a oral talk on "Molecular Docking Studies of Oxadiazole Hybrids as Potential Tubulin Antagonists and Antimitotic Agent". This is an outcome of the  collaboration work with Dr. Dhanya (http://manipal.edu/mit/department-faculty/faculty-list/dhanya-sunil.html) an excellent and active researcher in Manipal University.  With the efforts of Dr Dhanya and her PhD student Ms. Pooja, we have come of with some good publications. Thanks to Dr Dhanya and Ms. Pooja

TSRP – APSRC – 2016, Mumbai, January 5-9, 2016

2016: A good beginning with attending an International symposium “Trombay Symposium on Radiation & Photochemistry”, incorporating 6th “Asia-Pacific Symposium on Radiation Chemistry”, (TSRP – APSRC – 2016), Mumbai during January 5-9, 2016.  Informative five days and had a chance to present a poster of our laser based crystallization work. Interestingly one of the chief guest of the symposium is Dr. Belloni from France (http://www.lcp.u-psud.fr/spip.php?page=fiche_identite&nom=belloni&lang=fr). She is one of the scientist involved in establishing the theory of laser based crystallization.  Initially she thought that I am PhD student and end of our discussion she realized me that I am a faculty. More than one hour we had a good discussion and she shared her experience  and invited to me  work in her lab. Where to find  time and Money ....? may be I can suggest Ms. Shilpa (my PhD student) to go to France and work with Dr. Belloni. Let us see....

National Workshop on Molecular Structure Determination using X-ray Crystallography, Mangalore University

On March 4, 2016, I had the privilege to participate  as a resource person on a "National Workshop on Theory and Practice of Molecular Structure Determination using X-ray Crystallography" organized by Mangalore University.  Beautiful day with young and energetic minds from different fields of science.  Their eagerness to learn new things makes us more energetic and reminded us the important of transferring the knowledge.  Thanks to the organizers.

Recent workshops attended: 1)Flipped Classroom 2) Know your atmosphere

I have recently attended two interesting workshops.  Both are useful in a different ways. The flipped classroom concept is new for me and conducted by Professor Ramnarayan (Ex Vice Chancellor and Vice President - Faculty Development and Alumni Relations, Manipal University). Superb thoughts and guidance.  I plan to implement at least one or two flipped classes in every semester.

Other one is about Atmosphere conducted by Professor M M Satheesh Kumar.  This workshop gives me an basic idea about Atmosphere and kindle my thoughts to learn more about Atmosphere.  I will learn ............. learn ........
